10 random things from my inbox
I don’t know if anyone else does this, but whenever I come across something that makes me pause and think or leaves a mark I email it to myself.
In lieu of my usual meandering posts (due to most of my bandwidth is occupied with thinking about a Creative Bureaucracies module for my MPA) I thought I’d share the last 10 things that I shared with myself.
I’d never heard of mitigation lawyers before, but stumbled on this article and was both fascinated and touched by this corner of the criminal justice system in the US.
What is a Community of Practice? We’ve been discussing this a little at school and I’ve heard it talked about in different contexts. This simply clarified for me.
I adore this simple illustration of what it means to belong and its implications for creativity and innovation.
My MPA hosted George Aye of Greater Good Studio this week for a fireside chat, a thinker and designer I’ve been following for a few years. He talked about his definition of power; ‘The ability to change another’s reality’, the implications of which really stuck with me.
On the theme of power, Huddlecraft gathered this learning playlist on the topic which I’m enjoying working my way through.
Beyond the Rules by Dark Matter Labs. Mind bending thought experiments and ideas to dissolve the way things are currently being done.
Its fashionable to champion autonomy in our working lives right now. Loved this piece on the value and need for alignment in teams above autonomy.
New fav podcast. Sounds like a Cult. Very fun and fascinating to learn about modern day cults and some of the tell tell signs a group is getting a little culty!
I don’t remember where it came from but I emailed myself ‘Empathy is self protective’ and I still love the thought and return to it often.
That’s all for now pals. Many other things I’d like to explore once I’m out of the study cave.
Wishing you a gentle and warm rest of your weeks <3 x
